Kids programs at the Carrick Branch Library

The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh- Carrick will be hosting activities for children from preschool to teens in the coming weeks.

Chess @ the Library is for Kids in grades K - 8 who can come in for weekly free chess classes featuring basic instruction and time to play. The classes are on Thursdays, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m ., through the February 25 tournament at CLP Carrick. Register at the library or by calling 412-882-3897.

Preschool Storytime is at 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays, from January 26- March 1. Parents can share the fun of reading with their child. Preschool Storytime features entertaining stories, rhymes, and songs to captivate children's imaginations, build early learning skills, and help prepare for school success.

Teen Gaming @ the Library is for ages 12-18 on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 1-3 p.m. Teen Gaming features Rock Band 3, Just Dance, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Wii Sports, Mario Strikers Charge, and more. Teens are welcome to bring their own games (rated E or T).

Kids Create: Valentine's Day Crafts will take place on Saturday, Feb. 11, Little kids and big kids are welcome to create their own special cards and crafts. Ages 6 and under can come from noon - 1:30 p.m.,
ages 7 and up from 2- 3:30 p.m. Preregistration is required; stop in the library or call 412-882-3897 to register.
