Police were called to the South Side Starbucks on Wednesday, Dec. 7, for the report of a theft.
The manager reported to the officers the theft of ten compact discs missing from the store display. She had checked the store's surveillance tapes and was able to provide the footage of the two people stealing the CDs.
The surveillance tape shows the two people, a man and a woman, entering the store together. The woman initiated a purchase while the man looked around the store. While the store employee turned her back to fill the order, the man grabbed the CDs and placed them in his pocket and repeated the action. The woman received her order and the pair exited the store.
The pair are described as a white male, 18-25 years old, 5'8", small thin build, 150 lbs ., short hair, clean shaven, wearing a black and gray coat; the woman is 5'9", 180 lbs ., 20-25 years old with a large build, blond short hair and wearing a pink shirt and black and yellow Steelers purse. The stolen CDs were valued at $144.50.
The police were called back to the Starbucks on Monday, Dec. 12, for another report of theft. The manager reported both a man and woman stood in line to order. As they waited for their order the man again removed numerous CDs from the side counter and the woman removed CDs from the front counter.
The pair left the store on E. Carson toward 15th Street. The CDs/tapes taken the second time were valued at $259.
