A NID will support bars

South Side homeowners, do you want to be taxed?

It's your duty to return the letter you received or be taxed for the South Side bars and restaurants to have their sidewalks cleaned, pay for them to have security and to secure the continued flow of their profits from the sale of alcohol and food from the bars.

Susie Puskar and the SSLDC do not own property on the South Side, yet they are being paid to explore and institute the so called "Improvement District Tax." A member of the Neighborhood Improvement District steering committee is the owner of four bars and restaurants on the South Side: The Beehive, Tiki Lounge, Lava Lounge and the Double Wide Grill.

I made personal visits to several of the businesses whose name was on the list in favor of this tax and some are not even aware what the poster meant. And, are not in favor of the "Improvement District Tax."

Their goal is to take $1 million per year to sweep the sidewalks of bars on Carson Street, market South Side businesses, police Carson Street bars, fund parking and pay office staff who don't own homes here.

You must vote no. It is a must you return your petitions you received by mail. If you don't return it, they assume you want to be taxed to benefit the business district.
