Get Stuffed With Love expects to serve a record number of people

This year Pittsburgh and South Pittsburgh organizations and businesses are partnering to prepare, assemble and deliver food to feed the hungry on Thanksgiving Day.

Over the past nine years they have gone from feeding 250 people, including homeless, shut-ins, disabled and needy, to 1,500 people and the numbers are growing. The neighborhoods being helped include South Side, North Side, Downtown, Hill District, Beltzhoover, Allentown and Carrick, and anywhere else they are needed in the vicinity.

This year they expect to feed closer to 2,000, but we need help. Area residents can help by: letting them know if someone in need this Thanksgiving by contacting Kathy at 412-889-5389; By making a donation by sending a check payable to “ District 7300 Foundation Corporation” and write “Get Stuffed with love” in the memo and mailing it to: Pittsburgh's South Side Rotary club, 1916 Larkins Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.

Mailed contributions are needed by November 18, or go to www.southsiderotary. com and make a donation via PayPal.

Area businesses and organizations participating this year include: Penny's Glasshouse Bistro, Pittsburgh's South Side Rotary Club, Pittsburgh Police Officers from Zones 3, 6 and 1, Giant Eagle, BreadWorks, Rivers Casino, Jenny Lee Bakery and, Hot Metal Faith Community.
