Youth conference on Hilltop

The South Pittsburgh Coalition for Peace and Lighthouse Cathedral is sponsoring its Second Annual "Dare to Dream" Youth Conference on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The event, focusing on youth in Grades 5-12, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. and will be held at the Lighthouse Cathedral, 810 Fisher Street. Keynote speaker will be William T. Simmons, director of the Shuman Juvenile Detention Center. The proclamation and opening message will be given by Ed Gainey, coordinator of Economic Development, City of Pittsburgh, Public Affairs, Office of Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.

Free Registration begins at noon; Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m.

Following lunch, the program begins at 1 p.m and will consist of provider information tables, entertainment, award presentations and a number of speakers who will address the youth on anti-violence issues and having a positive vision.
