Trunk or Treat Halloween tailgating party for South Side area youngsters

October 25, 2011

On Halloween (Oct. 31), the parking lot of the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community will be creeping and crawling with trick-or-treaters and their families.

The parking lot will be transformed into a one-stop candy distribution center. Instead of walking door-to-door, kids will walk from car-to-car. The trunks of minivans and station wagons will serve as front porches, decorated for the season and accompanied by costumed folks handing out candy.

"It will be a good opportunity to meet other families from the neighborhood," said Annan McGinley, the director of children's ministry for the church. "In addition to the treats and decorations, we will have fun games for kids and their parents. So, all families are encouraged to include our Trunk-or-Treat parking lot in their regular trick-or-treat route."

Trunk-or-Treat will be available during regular trick-or-treat hours, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 in the parking lot of the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community.

The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is at the corner of 27th and jane streets in South Side. the church can be reached at 412-481-4010, via email to hotmetal@hotmetalbridge.com, or on the web at www.hotmetalbridge.com.
