Public meeting to discuss possible Mount dog park

October 18, 2011

A public meeting to discuss the feasibility of building an unleashed dog park near Mount Washington's Olympia Park is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Mount Washington Senior Center across the street from Foodland.

"I want to hear from everybody," City Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith said. She said she knows supporters of the proposed project are urging its advocates to attend. She said she wants to hear from them. "But I also want to hear from those with concerns and anyone who opposes the park."

Ms. Kail-Smith said it is a public meeting, not a public hearing.

At a future meeting, city council would have to approve a zoning change to allow the dog park.
