Halloween fun, safety guide featured on city website
The City of Pittsburgh's official Halloween trick-or-treating hours will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Mon ., Oct. 31.
City residents are encouraged to visit the city's new, user-friendly website that features a free and fun safety guide designed to educate children on the importance of Halloween safety.
Located on the city's Public Safety page, the website also connects interested residents with safe and spooky Halloween activities hosted by community groups and churches in their neighborhood.
Upon completion of the Halloween safety booklet, children will receive a certificate from Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.
In addition to the safety guide, the newly created website includes an interactive map of registered community events. Upon registration, groups will receive safety guides for the children attending their party, as well as a special recognition from Mayor Ravenstahl for their efforts in keeping Pittsburgh safe on Halloween.
