Skills for Success career workshops
A series of seven career workshops designed to help attendees gain control of the job search process, create powerful resumes and develop material to showcase their unique talents and abilities in today's competitive job market are planned beginning this week and running through November 17
The "Skills for Success" program is being presented by the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh with funding secured by the State Sen. Wayne D. Fontana for this purpose.
Participants at the free workshops will take part in mock interviews, develop job hunting strategies and networking skills and will receive assistance with application packages. Computer access, refreshments and materials are provided.
Rachel Masilamani and Goergiana Deming will be the presenters. They have more than ten years combined experience assisting library visitors with job hunting, online applications and resume writing.
The workshops are available on the following dates and times at various Carnegie Library branches throughout the 42nd Senatorial District:
West End Branch, 47 Wabash Avenue, Saturday, Oct. 15, 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Knoxville Branch, 400 Brownsville Road, Thursday, Oct. 20, 1 – 5 p.m.
Mount Washington Branch, 315 Grandview Avenue, Friday, Oct. 21, 1 – 5 p.m.
Allegheny Branch, 1230 Federal Street, Thursday, Oct. 27, 10:00 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Downtown Branch, 612 Smithfield Street, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 9:00 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Brookline Branch, 708-710 Brookline Blvd ., Saturday, Nov. 5, noon – 4 p.m.
Beechview Branch, 1910 Broadway Avenue, Thursday, Nov. 17, 3 – 7 p.m.
