Financial management workshop for organizations

October 11, 2011

The Hilltop Alliance is hosting a free workshop on Financial Management and Budgeting for Nonprofit Organizations on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 5 – 8 p.m.

The workshop is geared toward those who are interested in, provide oversight for, or are responsible for their group's budget and finances. Topics to be covered include: creating and maintaining a financial record keeping system, developing and monitoring an organizational budget, safeguarding your organization's resources, and, audit basics. A free workshop manual will be provided to each participant.

It's not necessary for participants to be from a 501(c) 3 organization to attend - many all-volunteer groups who raise and spend funds can benefit from the information.

Cynthia Haines, operations specialist in field policy and management, from HUD will conduct the session. The workshop will be held at the Hilltop Alliance office, 126 Brownsville Road. A light dinner will be served at 5 p.m. with the workshop starting at 5:30 p.m.

For more information and to register contact the Hilltop Alliance at 412-586-5807 or patmurphy.hilltopalliance@gmail.com. Space is limited so register by October 14.
