Tuesday, Sept. 27 was proclaimed East Carson Street Clean Team Day in the city of Pittsburgh in honor of the South Side Local Development Company's Clean Team.
Clean Team members Ron Goings and DaVar Cutler and SSLDC Manager of Business Development Aaron Sukenik accepted the City Council proclamation designating the day on behalf of the SSLDC.
In reading the proclamation, Councilman Bruce Kraus noted the Clean Team members work a combined seven days a week keeping East Carson Street free of litter. He noted Mr. Goings and Mr. Cutler "work hard sweeping litter, trash, and debris from sidewalks and street gutters" as well as remove stickers, graffiti and handbills from public infrastructure, remove weeds in the public right of way and remove snow and ice from ADA intersection ramps.
In doing so, the team "effectively assisted the South Side's economy by making the business district cleaner and more visitor-friendly."
