Resource and Unity Fair at PFT hall on So. Side

@PA Wants to Work; Jobs Now! Resource and Unity Fair will take place on Saturday, Oct 8, from noon - 3:30 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers Hall, 10 South 19th St. South Side.

The community event for the whole family kicks off at noon with speakers and live music with Pittsburgh's own Mike Stout.

Agencies will be on hand include: Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Program, Alliance for American Manufacturing, World Class Industrial Networks, Veterans Vocational Services,@PA Health Access Network, We Are One Coalition, United Way, Just Harvest, OnePittsburgh, Carnegie Library, North Hills Community Outreach, Reading is FUNdamental, Family Foundations, Pgh Black Nurses in Action, Greater Pittsburgh Community Foodbank, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Goodwill, Working America, Guerilla Eye Services - Univ. Of Pgh. Dept. of Opthalmology, ActionUnited, Rebuild the Dream, Travelers Aid, Veteran's Art Project Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Health Dept. Mobil Unit and more.

Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. and there will be fall fun, crafts and books for the kids.

Terry Miale is the keynote speaker. She lost her job when the company she worked for@outsourced the entire@facility overseas. She will tell the story of her journey from loss and despair to becoming an advocate for struggling workers and the American Dream for all.

Come at noon to get a ticket for free Steeler basket raffle and two other prizes.@
