If Mr. Testoni and other Pittsburgh cyclists can raise $15,000 by the end of September, he will lead a 48.4 mile "Cycle for CLP" bike ride October 1 that stops at all 19 Library locations across the city.
"Nearly 11,000 members of the community rallied together to place the Our Library, Our Future referendum on the November 8 ballot, and now we're counting on the community's support again to help make sure this bike ride takes place," said Mr. Testoni.
As ride preparations get underway, Mr. Testoni is asking Pittsburgh residents to donate online or at their neighborhood Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh location. Donations will help to spread the word to city voters about the need to vote yes on the ballot initiative this November 8 in order to provide sustainable funding for the library.
For a $1 donation, Our Library, Our Future supporters can also purchase and write their name on paper bicycles at their neighborhood library that will be posted on the library wall. These donations will be counted towards Mr. Testoni's "Cycle for CLP" challenge.
Our Library, Our Future is just one of six solutions that will provide the library with the diverse and sustained funding it needs to continue to expand minds, open doors and connect the community.
