Adult Day Service celebrates 25 years with Open House

The Allentown Adult Day Service will celebrate 25 years of providing quality adult day services to the South Pittsburgh communities at the annual Open House on Friday, Sept. 23.

@The festivities begin at 1 p.m. with opening remarks by invited guests followed by a balloon launch high above the city. The balloons launched by family members will represent the present and past participants from over the last 25 years says Michelle Silliman, program manager. All families whose loved ones participated in the program are encouraged to join in the celebration to honor or memorialize their family member.

@The program serves consumers ages 55 and older, who are physically or socially impaired, mentally confused or in need of supervision throughout the day. Caregivers benefit by being able to continue to work, receive time for themselves or by relieving them of the responsibility of providing total care for their loved one.

@Tours of the facility will be offered and refreshments will be served.

@The Allentown Adult Day Service is a program of the Allentown Senior Citizen Centers, Inc. and is located at the Henry Kaufmann Neighborhood House, 2201 Salisbury Street in Arlington.

For more information about the program or open house call Ms. Silliman at 412-431-0557 ext. 12.
