Police arrest suspect in Knoxville shooting

On Sunday, August 14, Pittsburgh Police homicide detectives were called to 315 Rochelle Street in Knoxville for a home invasion where a man was shot to death.

At 9:35 p.m. that night, zone three Police Officers responded to a "home invasion" call and found Antwan Leake, 19, shot at least twice. He was in the kitchen of the home at the time of the shooting. Paramedics were called and pronounced Mr. Leake dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives interviewed all witnesses found inside the home but at the time a suspect was not been identified. After a thorough investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for 19 year old Jerod Cager for the shooting death of Mr. Leake.

Over the weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 10 at officers from Zone One Police Station stopped a vehicle at Allegheny and Ridge avenues with Mr. Cager inside. Officers found in plain view two firearms on the floor and a plastic bag that contained 2444 stamp bags of heroin.

Officers also recovered a .22 caliber semi-auto pistol, a .45 caliber semi-auto pistol, and $530 in currency. The .45 caliber pistol was reported stolen.

Mr. Cager was charges with: Persons not to possess a firearm; Firearms not to be carried without a license; Receiving stolen property; Possession of controlled substance; and, Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

He was taken the Allegheny County Jail for arraignment.
