Volunteers perform two primary jobs: pantry intake worker and pantry bagger. Intake workers interview food pantry participants, determine eligibility for services, and complete necessary paperwork. Volunteer intake workers should enjoy interacting with people and should be able to complete forms with accuracy.
Pantry baggers prepare bags of food for program participants and restock pantry shelves as supplies dwindle. Baggers should be able to lift up to fifty pounds on an occasional basis, prepare and bag orders according to instructions, and maintain adequate supplies.
Volunteers must be available on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 2:45 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at either location. Brashear staff members will supply all necessary training. For more information, contact Community Case Manager Jennifer Huber at 412-390-3588.
