Drug bust in Knoxville after probation officers see drugs

Pittsburgh police assisted juvenile probation officers to serve an attachment for a juvenile on Moore Avenue in Knoxville on July 28.

While on the scene, officers saw marijuana and ammunition in plain view. Adult probation officers were called to the residence and the house was searched. Among the items seized were: two guns, cocaine, marijuana, $5,840 in cash, digital scales, cell phones and two bullet proof vests.

Arrested were two men: Derrick Smith, 37, of Knoxville and Eric Smith, 37. The men face charges including: Possession with the intent to deliver; possession of controlled substance; person not to possess a firearm; and, receiving stolen property.
