Short-term lane closures on outbound (eastbound) East Carson Street on South Side will occur this week from July 20-22, weather permitting.
Crews will be removing the existing traffic signal mast arm pole and installing a new one above the eastbound roadway at the intersection of 33
rd Street. Outbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane from 7 a.m. to 3:30 pm. each day through the intersection. Two brief traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less will also occur during the removal and installation of the poles.
The work is part of a $14.3 million project developed in cooperation with the City of Pittsburgh and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to widen and reconstruct about one mile of East Carson Street.
Motorists can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.
