Public hearing will be on AAA Future Plan Budget


The Advisory Council of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Area Agency on Aging (AAA) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 14, at 10 a.m., in the Gold Room on the fourth floor of the County Courthouse, to solicit comments on the 2011-2012 Area Plan and Budget Prospectus.

Persons wishing to give testimony may register in advance by calling 412-350-4083 for an assigned five-minute time slot. Speakers may also register the day of the hearing and provide testimony as time permits. Additionally, a presentation will be provided about the AAA Protective Services. The presentation includes information about operations, how to identify elder abuse and common characteristics of victims.

The hearing will provide an opportunity for older adults, caregivers and other interested individuals to ask questions and offer comments on aging services in general. All oral and written comments will be recorded in the official proceedings of the hearing and sent to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging in Harrisburg.
