Applications for the 2010 Pittsburgh Summer Youth Employment Program (PSYEP) will be accepted Monday, May 23 until June 1. This locally and federally funded summer employment program has the potential to employ over 250 youth workers who will gain valuable work experience, earn wages and contribute to Pittsburgh's economic growth.
The PSYEP is available to City of Pittsburgh residents between the ages of 14 and 21. Youths will be assigned to perform outdoor work, including restoration and conservation of City parks, public property and vacant lots, and internships, including general office work in a variety of local businesses. Youths will be paid $7.25/hour and may work up to 30-hours per week. Employment begins July 5 and continues until August 12.
Applications are available by download at www.pitts burghpartnership.org or www.pittsburghpa.gov, or at the PSYEP application centers: YouthLINK (South) at 2400 East Carson Street, 412-632-1742, or YouthLINK/Eastside Neighborhood Employment Center at 5321 Penn Avenue, 412-452-1513. Applications must be submitted in person at one of the two PSYEP application centers. The required eligibility documentation stated in the guidelines. Applicants who are less than 18 years of age must have applications signed by a parent or legal guardian.
