Free career assessment, awareness program

A free Career Assessment and Awareness Program is slated for Saturday, May 14 from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Brashear Center, 2005 Sarah Street.

The goal for the Focus Now program for young adults ages 12 to 25 years old will be for each person to leave with a personal career plan based on their own strengths. Parents are welcome to attend also.

The presentation will include: pizza and introductions; MAPS (Motivation, Assessment, Explore); career options and skills needed; personality test; personality test assessment; career plan development; and, program evaluation and wrap up.

The presenter is Dr. Herman L. Reid, Jr. EdD, educator, former executive, fundraiser and a trustee of the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation. He is currently the president of FOCUS Now (Finding Our Career and Understanding Success Now) a career identification support system.
