The theme of the meeting will be to educate the community about city services. Guest speakers for the meeting will be from the Pittsburgh Housing Authority, Bureau of Building Inspection, 311 Call Center, Environmental Services, District Magisterial Judge Ricky King and City Council representatives. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn how your tax dollars are being utilized every day.
The Carrick Community Council has invited these representatives from key departments and agencies to speak about their specific duties, responsibilities and how the public can make better use of their resources. The guests will explain how to best utilize their resources and dispel any misconceptions and misinformation regarding city services.
Residents will learn how each department works and what the processes are when complaints are received, documented and what actions may be taken. Complaints or comments regarding specific issues can be addressed to the representatives privately after the community council meeting.
In addition, the Carrick Community will recognize several Pittsburgh Carrick High School students who have given countless hours of their time at the local food pantries from their elementary school years through high school. Linda Warble from the food pantry will present the awards.
