The Coffee House at the South Side Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 8, 7:30 – 9 p.m., features a stirring film called "War Child," about Sudan's civil war and peace process, following the life of Emmanuel Jal, an internationally popular Sudanese African rap singer/songwriter and peace activist.
Mr. Jal was a child soldier for a year until he was able to escape. His music and life permeate the movie.
The Coffee House at the South Side Presbyterian Church is held monthly at the corner of South 20th and Sarah Streets, 1926 Sarah St., in South Side. It includes candlelight conversation, creative performers, and refreshments with the suggested donation of $5.
