New southsidechamber.org goes live
The South Side Chamber of Commerce's website, www.southsidechamber.org, has gone live with a new update that will benefit not only local businesses, but consumers as well.
The opening page of the site, designed by blue tomato's Kim Collins, highlights the featured South Side Chamber of Commerce Member of the Month along with upcoming networking and area events. Easy links take visitors to a South Side business directory, upcoming events, "South Side Deals" and contact information.
The new business directory features not only chamber members but all South Side businesses. Chamber members are highlighted in bold type and when "rolled over" include additional information including links to the business' website.
While on the browsing directory page, visitors can click on the "Business Directory Map" link to bring up a map of South Side with chamber members locations. Select the type of business (Retail, Entertainment, Professional Services, etc.) to show only those type of businesses.
Also new is the South Side Deals page where visitors can download specials from chamber members. Currently the service is free for members to advertise on, but in the future a small charge will be required to place a special on the site.
At the roll out for the site at the April luncheon meeting, South Side Chamber of Commerce secretary Amy Murphy said they hope the website becomes the go-to site for not only chamber members but anyone looking to live, work or play on South Side.
To promote the website, all chamber members received a customized poster with the business' name and the website address. An example of the poster appears on page eight of this week's South Pittsburgh Reporter.
