Land closures begin this week on Carson at SouthSide Works

March 22, 2011

PennDOT District 11 will begin short-term lane closures on East Carson Street (Route 837)

on South Side this week weather permitting.

Restrictions will occur as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between 25th and 33rd

streets through late July. Crews will be installing sidewalks, ADA

ramps, light and sign poles and other minor improvements needed to

complete the project.

 The

work is part of a $14.3 million project developed in cooperation with

the City of Pittsburgh and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to

widen and reconstruct about one mile of East Carson Street.
