Area principals guest speakers at Carrick council

The public is welcome to come to Carrick on Wednesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh Concord Elementary School auditorium for the Carrick Community Council's quarterly meeting.

The theme of this meeting will be the annual report on the neighborhood schools. A highlight of the meeting will be an opportunity to meet and listen to the new superintendent of Pittsburgh Public Schools, Dr. Linda Lane.

Also reporting on the activities and progress of their respective schools will be the principals of Pittsburgh Concord, Roosevelt, South Brook and Carrick High schools. Jean Fink, District 7 Pittsburgh School Board member, will also discuss the activities of the Board of Education.

Concord Elementary School is also completing a new addition which will result in a new feeder patterns for students attending both Concord and Roosevelt schools. This will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions regarding the changes.

An A+ Schools representative will also discuss their work. A+ Schools is an independent community advocate for the improvement in student achievement.
