Keeping them warm

The Elder-ado craft and computer classes recently donated lap robes along with wheelchair bags to area Veteran's hospitals in time for the Christmas Holiday. The items were hand crafted by the classes during the previous year. They were delivered by Veteran's Hospital volunteer Tom Hutchins, son of Knoxville member Laya Hutchins. Hat and Scarf sets were also donated to St. Albert the Great Parish in Baldwin, for their campaign to warm the homeless. During previous years, the parish answered Elder-ado's requests for yarn donations for our craft classes at Knoxville. Millie Modrak is the Elder-ado craft/computer instructor. In the photo are: (front row from left) Susan Poplowski, Rita McCarthy, Dolly Nowowiejski and Geneva Patterson; (second row) Sis Mendyk, Richard Modrak, Jenny Marino, Peggy Doak, Ruth Conley, Tom Hutchins, and seamstress Laya Hutchins. Missing participants: Laya Hutchins, Marylou Stadleman, and Gert Jackson.
