Police make drug bust in Beltzhoover

Pittsburgh Police SWAT and narcotics units executed a search warrant on Friday, Oct. 15, at 6:25 a.m. in the 300 block of Jucunda Street in Beltzhoover.
At approximately 6:25 a.m. the SWAT team approached the residence and repeatedly announced their presence over the loudspeaker without a response from the residence. Upon entering the officers observed Chauncey Lewis Stephens, 26, lying on a couch in the living room directly next to a 9mm Glock handgun.
In the house, the officers recovered 16 bags of heroin, four bricks, three bundles and one loose stamp bag from the kitchen. Recovered from the kitchen counter in plain view was a small baggie of marijuana. Another 11 bundles of heroin was recovered in a bag of rice in the kitchen cupboard.
In addition to the drugs, $1,268, cell phones, police scanner, ammunition, indicia and drug packaging materials were also confiscated.
A check of the handgun revealed it was reported stolen by the Oakmont Police Department. Notification of the stolen handgun was made.
Mr. Stephens was transported to Allegheny County Jail without incident
