Wellness Festival at South Side Presbyterian Church

The South Side Presbyterian Church will hold a Wellness Festival from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26, for people of all ages.

At the festival, all are welcome to stop by and browse the seven Wellness stations in the church's social hall. There they can learn about and engage in various practices that can help people feel better and have have more energy.

The Wellness stations include: Massage therapy with Helen Stallings and Lisa Finnigan; Nutrition with Laura Kinzel, a senior research nutritionist at the University of Pittsburgh and a lifestyle coach (M.S.R.D.); Energy work with Lisa Finnigan; Physical exercise ideas, with Sarah Clark of the Friends of the Riverfront; Roads to recovery with information on numerous 12-step groups; Christo Qigong with the Rev. Kathy Hamilton-Vargo (her discipline of breath and body prayers); and, Intercessory prayer area with Bill Betts and Doug Booth.

There is no charge for this even. People are also welcome at the worship service at 11 a.m. which will also focus on "getting well;" and lunch will be available after the service at about noon. All are welcome.
