Upcoming hearings before the Pittsburgh Zoning Board of Adjustment
Pittsburgh's Zoning Board of Adjustment has scheduled the following public hearings of interest to South Pittsburgh residents in the first floor hearing room of the John P. Robin Civic Building, 200 Ross Street, Downtown.
Zone case 189/10 on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 9:20 a.m. is the appeal of Giant Eagle, Inc ., owner of 117 South 18th Street in the 17th Ward, to construct a 545-square foot extension to rear of existing 1915 sq. ft. one-story structure for use as a grocery store (limited) ; and improvements to parking lot for 11 parking stalls and one accessible parking stall.
The appellant is requesting relief from minimum setback requirements, parking stall and aisle width dimensions, and screening standards.
Zone case 190/10 on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 9:30 a.m. is the appeal of Barbara Mosco, owner of 120 Maytide Street in the 29th Ward, to install a 8.5' x 9' parking pad at side of existing 2-story single family dwelling with existing 6-ft. privacy fence along the easterly side and rear of property.
The appellant is requesting relief from minimum front and side-yard setback requirements.
Zone case 192/10 on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 10:10 a.m. is the protest appeal of Nancy L. Wells, protesting Private Wealth Advisors Real Estate Partnership, owner of 249 South 9th Street in the 17th Ward.
The appellant is protesting the Zoning Administrator's Approval for the construction of Mercy Behavioral Health's proposed 3-story building for use as a medical office and assisted living (class B).
Zone case 196/10 on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 9:20 a.m. is the appeal of Steel Bridge Property, LLC, owner of 2405 Sarah Street in the 16th Ward, to use existing three-story structure as a three-family dwelling with integral two-car garage at rear along Carey Way.
The appellant is requesting a Special Exception for a change from one Nonconforming Use to another and a Variance Request for the minimum number of parking stalls required.
Zone case 198/10 on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 9:40 a.m. is the appeal of Tim Tobitsch, owner of 2700 Jane Street in the 16th Ward, to use a portion of existing parking area accessory to religious assembly (general) for outdoor retail sales of food items, non-accessory (‘Franktuary').
The appellant is requesting a Use Variance Request; Outdoor Retail Sales is not permitted in a residential zoning district.
Zone case 199/10 on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 10:00 a.m. is the appeal of Laurie Silfies, owner of 425 Kirk Avenue in the 29th Ward, to erect a 12' x 18' open car-port at front/side of existing 2½ story single family dwelling.
The appellant is requesting a Variance for front and interior side yard setback requirements.
Plans are on file for these cases and may be inspected up to the date of the hearing. Anyone who wishes to be heard must appear in person.
