Make a difference in a child's life

September 7, 2010

For just a little time once or more each week, a child can feel important and build self-esteem.

Help a student achieve in school and learn to read and make a difference in their life by becoming a volunteer in the OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program. Volunteer tutors are trained in two free six-hour sessions and are then assigned to a school in their neighborhood.

Volunteers are needed at Phillips, Murray and Arlington schools. Trainings take place Thursdays, September 23 and 30 at OASIS. No previous teaching experience is required. OASIS facilitates obtaining the child abuse and criminal clearances that are required in Pennsylvania.
