Pgh. Zoning Board hearings
Pittsburgh's Zoning Board of Adjustment has scheduled the following public hearings of interest to South Pittsburgh residents in the first floor hearing room of the John P. Robin Civic Building, 200 Ross Street, Downtown.
Zone case 179/10 on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 9:20 a.m. is the appeal of 501 Grandview Associates, owners of 515 Grandview Avenue in the 19th Ward, to demo existing single family dwelling: install 9 additional parking stalls for use by Vista Grande Condominiums at 501 Grandview Avenue for a total of 27 off-street parking stalls (lots to be consolidated).
The appellant is requesting relief from the maximum number of parking stalls permitted per dwelling unit: Two stalls per unit permitted (22 stalls); 27 stalls requested.
Zone case 185/10 on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 10:00 a.m. is the appeal of Aldi, owner of 2628 East Carson Street in the 16th Ward, to construct a 17,541 square foot one-store structure for use as grocery store, general, with 56 off-street parking stalls on site, and 7 off-site stalls at 2728 East Carson Street.
For Zoning Board Review: Special Exception review for the use of a grocery store (general), off-site parking, and a waiver of residential compatibility standards.
The appellant is requesting relief from ground-floor transparency and landscaping/screening requirements. Further, requesting a use variance for the portion of development site that is located in a R2-VH zoning district.
Plans are on file for these cases and may be inspected up to the date of the hearing. Anyone who wishes to be heard must appear in person.
