South Side Community Council will host an open Aldi informational session on Monday, Sept. 13 from 6:30-7:15 p.m. at the Brashear Center, 20th and Sarah streets.
Local Western PA Aldi executives will present information focused on day-to-day in-store operations. Aldi Director of Development Christina L. Morascyzk will show a short video and discuss: company history and philosophy; what select assortment and specialty brands means; how pricing and Double Quality Guarantee works; how operational overhead is managed; and, audience questions about store operations.
Aldi will provide some free food samples and reusable "green" shopping bags.
On Wednesday, Sept. 8, the week before and prior to the informational meeting, Aldi will provide an opportunity for South Siders to visit an existing Aldi store in the Northway Mall, on Babcock at McKnight Road, in Ross Township.
Those who would like to visit the North Hills store must register by Thursday, Aug. 26 by calling Wanda at 412-381-2508. The bus will depart the Brasher Center at 6 p.m.
The store tour /visit should last approximately one hour and the bus should be back at Brashear around 8 p.m. Transportation will only be available for those who make a reservation.
Although Aldi has multiple store locations in Western PA, the proposed South Side store will be similar to the two new prototype stores only in Northway Mall and Allison Park/ Hampton Township.
