‘Sing Me a Story' part of the library programs at Knoxville

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Knoxville Branch, has a variety of programs for all ages during August.

Saturday, Aug. 7, 1 p.m. will feature “Sing Me A Story: Song and Dance Tales from the Caribbean.” Join musician C.E. Pino as she travels the globe exploring call-and-response chants. See and hear sound of instruments from other countries. Then Join in the telling of “Dancing to the River,” a folktale from Jamacia about a very clever turtle.

The Summer Reading Celebration is planned for Saturday, Aug. 14 beginning at noon. They are going to celebrate all the reading everyone did over the summer by getting together for a big party. The celebration will feature light refreshments, crafts and entertainment.

The Knoxville Chess Club meets every Saturday at noon. Veteran players and beginners of all ages are all welcome.
