Hilltop Alliance Forum on safety this Wednesday

The Hilltop Alliance is asking area residents to join them at the United Hilltop=Safe Streets Action Forum on June 23 at 5:45 p.m. at the St. Pius Byzantine Catholic Church in Carrick.

Since the kick-off on May 19, six groups of men, women, teens, and police have met weekly to discuss how to improve public safety and police community relations. Now, as they are nearing the end of this process they are asking Hilltop residents to come and see what innovative ideas their neighbors and friends believe should be considered.

At the action forum, representatives from each dialogue group will present their top two ideas to each other and the community. All dialogue participants will vote to select the top ideas from those presented. A task force will be formed comprised of citizens and police to help carry out those ideas using existing resources and institutions.

The Hilltop Alliance is asking area residents to be a part of this historic effort. All are welcome to join the task force. Free dinner, free childcare, and free parking will be provided.

The St. Pius Byzantine Catholic Church is at 2336 Brownsville Road, Carrick, at 5:45 p.m.
