Magician to perform at Summer Reading kickoff

Magician Tom Jay of the Cuckoo's Nest will entertain and amaze those who attend the annual Summer Reading Club Kickoff Celebration at the South Side Branch Library.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. on Sat ., June 19 with the magical performance by Magician Jay. It will be followed by Summer Reading Club registration for all ages.

Young people who attend will receive free books to keep. Children from infants through grade 5 will receive a free book courtesy of Pittsburgh RIF. Teens, ages 12-17, who register for Summer Reading will be provided with a free book from the Friends of the Library. Light refreshments will be served.

Summer Reading is for everyone – children, teens and adults. There are programs and reading rewards planned throughout the summer so everyone may participate.
