Carrick clean up on Sat., May 1

Carrick's Spring Redd-up is Saturday, May 1, in conjunction with Earth Day and the City's Redd-up program.

It's that time of year again, to clean up the neighborhoods from the winter litter and the perfect chance to find the trash that gets blown into tight spaces while the trees are still bare.

The Carrick Spring Redd-up begins at the Carrick Shopping Center (volunteers should meet in the back by Auntie Lisa's Storage Units) on Saturday, May 1, from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Trash Bags, gloves and bottle water will be provided. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes, shoes, and sun screen.

Those coming out to help clean up Carrick are asked to wear a green shirt, any color of green, any style of shirt, to let the community know they are part of a team, improving the litter problem with a hands on approach.

The Carrick Spring Redd-up is organized by the Carrick Litter Patrol, with the support of the Pennsylvania Resource Council, Allegheny Clean Ways and the Clean Pittsburgh Commission.
