Hilltop Alliance hosts meeting with service providers


Hilltop Alliance, along with Action-Housing, Inc., NeighborWorks and the Brashear Association are working together to preserve the housing assets on the Hilltop and help people remain in their homes.

Through their Coordinated Weatherization Campaign, Action-Housing will be helping eligible families in the Hilltop to apply for free energy audits/retrofits. Those interested in having their home weatherized should contact Lindsay Ruprecht from Action Housing at 412-281-2102 or lruprecht@

NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania will be offering free budget, credit and foreclosure prevention counseling at Brashear Association's Neighborhood Employment Center, 730 E. Warrington Ave. in Allentown, on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 412-281-9773.

On March 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hilltop Alliance will be hosting a community event at Elder-ado senior center, 320 Brownsville Rd. in Knoxville. Representatives from all four organizations will present information on their programs from 11 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 2 p.m. Lunch will be complementary and served between noon and 1 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend and learn how they can take advantage of these programs.
