Hilltop Alliance hosts meeting with service providers

Hilltop Alliance, along with Action-Housing, Inc ., NeighborWorks and the Brashear Association are working together to preserve the housing assets on the Hilltop and help people remain in their homes.

Through their Coordinated Weatherization Campaign, Action-Housing will be helping eligible families in the Hilltop to apply for free energy audits/retrofits. Those interested in having their home weatherized should contact Lindsay Ruprecht from Action Housing at 412-281-2102 or lruprecht@ actionhousing.org.

NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania will be offering free budget, credit and foreclosure prevention counseling at Brashear Association's Neighborhood Employment Center, 730 E. Warrington Ave. in Allentown, on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 412-281-9773.

Brashear Association provides case management services including helping families to apply for Dollar Energy, a program to help families afford their utility bills. To schedule an appointment, contact Dora Walmsey at 412-431-2236 or at Dorawalmsey@brashear association.org.

On March 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m ., the Hilltop Alliance will be hosting a community event at Elder-ado senior center, 320 Brownsville Rd. in Knoxville. Representatives from all four organizations will present information on their programs from 11 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 2 p.m. Lunch will be complementary and served between noon and 1 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend and learn how they can take advantage of these programs.
