Don't throw the snow into street

February 9, 2010

The Mt. Oliver Fire Department is asking borough residents to not throw any snow into the streets.

Dumping the snow into the street creates delayed responses from all emergency and other public safety vehicles. Those caught putting snow into the street may be cited.

Also, the fire department is asking residents to not cover the fire hydrants in front of their homes or apartment buildings with snow. It hinders not only the safety of the residents, but the firefighters safety as well.
