Community Peace Day activities in Beltzhoover

The Beltzhoover Neighborhood Council and Beltzhoover Block Watch will host a Community Peace Day for Black History Month on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the McKinley Park Recreation Center, Delmont and Amesbury streets.

The day will include speakers on peace, an opportunity for children to make Peace Posters and a rap performance by Greedy Recordz at 2 p.m. The will also be a contest with prizes for the oldest photo of Beltzhoover and the oldest photo of a Beltzhoover business.

There will be table displays of history highlights along with residents discussing Beltzhoover's past and Beltzhoover trivia. Refreshments will be served.

Special guests include: Jake Wheatley, state representative for the 19th District, City of Pittsburgh Chief of Police Nathan Harper and District 3 Councilman Bruce Kraus.
