The Pilot Club of Pittsburgh's annual poster contest to promote Brain Awareness Week is now in full swing.
This year's theme for the contest is "Play Safe and Play Smart." Brain Awareness Week is March 15-21. Posters will be judged on March 13.
The contest is open to children 12 and under. Age categories are: under 6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Posters should be submitted on 8½ x 11 sheets of paper and include name, age, address, phone number and school name on back of the poster. All posters must be submitted by mail before March 1 to: Mollieann Gray, 413 Middlesex Road, McKeesport, PA 15135. One $50 gift certificate will be awarded in each age group, with ribbons given to first, second, and third place competitors.
The Pilot Club of Pittsburgh has been servicing the Greater Pittsburgh Area for 63 years. In 1921, Pilot International was established as a nonsectarian, nonpartisan club to encourage high ethical standards among business and professional women.
The Pilot Club of Pittsburgh funds its service projects through various fundraising projects and donations. The Pilot Club has published a community cookbook, "The Pilot Pantry" is available for $10. Contact President Henry Hegerle at 412-381-4989 to purchase a copy of the cookbook.
