Animal Advocates rescue shelter

January 26, 2010

Animal Advocates is an all volunteer no-kill animal rescue shelter for cats and dogs for more than 20 years operating out of a two-story building in West End.

The facility generates income for the shelter by operating a thrift shop on the first floor. Cats are housed on the second floor where they roam freely and are even able to go outside on the deck during the warm summer months. Dogs are placed in the homes of volunteers.

Animal Advocates is not only looking for more shoppers in the thrift store at 35 Wabash Street to continue and expand its work, but also volunteers for in-house care of the cats, foster homes for dogs and people interested in adopting a pet.
