Seton-LaSalle college junior chosen for softball showcase
Chelsea Zola, a junior at Seton-LaSalle High School, has been selected to participate in the annual Queen of Diamonds College Softball Showcase (QDSN) at Kent State University on January 9-10, 2010.
Chelsea is a right-handed hurler for the Lady Rebels of Seton-LaSalle. Aside from being a standout pitcher, she also garners one of the highest batting average (.444) on the team.
Besides playing for the Rebels, she also plays travel softball for the Pittsburgh Lady Roadrunners. When she is not pitching, she plays second base.
Chelsea is also very strong on the academic side. She attains a 3.98 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.
The Queen of Diamonds event is now in its 18th year and is considered one of the most prestigious scholastic showcases in the country. Approximately 200 high school girls out of more than 4,000 applicants are chosen for this showcase.
There will be more than 300 college coaches in attendance this year. Most of them from Division I and Division II levels.
