Santa coming to So. Side Light Up Night

November 24, 2009

Santa Claus is coming to South Side.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taking last minute requests from children as part of the South Side Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Light Up Night festivities on Thursday, Dec. 3.

The first 250 children will receive photos with Santa. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be at the parking lot at 18th and East Carson Street.

The Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 Choir will also perform at the annual celebration. Other surprises are also planned.

As part of the annual festivities, the chamber will light the traditional Snowflake Lights along Carson Street. The lights will remain up throughout the Holiday Season.

On December 3, the chamber will also light its community Christmas Tree at Cindy Esser Plaza at 12th and East Carson Streets. Chamber president Nancy Eshelman will preside over the ceremony.

South Side businesses will be staying open for the annual event for Holiday shopping. Look in next week's South Pittsburgh Reporter for more details and time of the festivities.
