Arrest made in South Side stabbing

November 24, 2009

Pittsburgh Police homicide detectives were requested by Zone Three Police at 2:40 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 to respond to the 1900 block of Wharton Street for a male who was stabbed.

The detectives were informed that 25 year old Rayan Lambert was involved in a fight and was stabbed in the neck.

The assailant fled and the victim was able to flag down a Pittsburgh Police K-9 Officer who was patrolling in the area. The K-9 officer called for paramedics while tending the victims' injuries. Medics arrived and stabilized the victim before transporting him to Mercy Hospital where he was listed in critical condition and sent to surgery. He has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The investigation into the stabbing revealed that the victim and suspect Shane O'Neil Hennen were involved in an altercation earlier after leaving Diesel Night Club. The fight was broken up and both parties went their separate way.

A short time later the fight resumed in the 2100 block of Wharton Street and ended when the victim was stabbed on the side of his neck and cut on his wrist by the actor. A box cutter may have been used as the weapon.

Based on the investigation by Homicide detectives an arrest warrant was obtained charging suspect Shane Hennen with aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person. At 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, Mr. Hennen came to police headquarters with his attorney to turn himself in on the warrant.
