Light Up Night on the Mount

November 17, 2009

Mount Washington will celebrate its Third Annual Light Up Night complementing the Downtown Pittsburgh's festivities with a family friendly event close to home.

The businesses in the Mount Washington's Main Street area have been building a Light up Night of its own to go hand in hand with the activities going on Downtown. This year will be like none other with quality decoration schemes around the business district which were sponsored by local businesses such as Redbeard's, DiFiores Ice Cream and a few others.

Among the activities on Friday, Nov. 20, there will be a special appearance by Santa Claus from 5-7 p.m. to help trim the tree at Charles Lewis Park, next to the firehouse.

Holiday performances will be provided by Susan Borowski, and the Duquesne University Performance Notes Ensemble and Spotlight Musical Theatre from 6-7 p.m. Don't miss the indoor art marketplace in 225 Shiloh Street with DJ from 6-9 p.m. and tours of the latest renovation of 221 Shiloh Street from 5-8 p.m. will be showcasing the newest business and luxury apartments on the street.

Strolling musicians will help contribute to the Holiday Spirit from 5-8 p.m. along Shiloh Street. Boggs Avenue and Southern Avenue Businesses will be on board too such as Exile Cycle Shop, Shay's Boutique and J.V. Raschi's Treasures.

Numerous specials are being offered by 17 businesses, some running all night long, to encourage everyone to make Mount Washington part of their Light Up experience.
