Many years ago, during the era of my youth, I took particular note of "beer companies" delivering their product to their clients.
At this time, since beer came in wooden barrels, the men who delivered this beer always placed a large burlap cushion on the sidewalk to protect the barrels from breakage. Now that beer comes in aluminum barrels, the barrel is simply bounced onto the sidewalk, eventually cracking the concrete and/or brick sidewalk.
Sometimes my whole building shakes when the full aluminum barrels are dropped on the sidewalk.
Why don't the distributors provide this big burlap cushion again?
