Warrington Community Center forming new advisory council

September 29, 2009

The Warrington Community Center (WCC) is planning to expand the population they serve by increasing efforts to serve more adults, pre-teens and some senior programs on top of increasing programming for teens and young adults.

To aid in the effort, the WCC is seeking individuals to serve on its Community Center Advisory Council. The main purpose of the council is to make recommendations to the center on programming and to assist with fund raising efforts to support the programs and activities.

The council will also be asked to assist with programs and events at the center when needed and to work with government leadership in efforts concerning the center.

The advisory council meets throughout the year at the center, 329 East Warrington Avenue, for about 90 minutes at a time.

Those interested in joining the WCC advisory council should contact Kenneth Lindsey, center director, at the center, by calling 412-488-8369 or by emailing kenneth. lindsey@city.pittsburgh.pa.us.

The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for late October.
