Regional Internship Center partners with area colleges for internship fairs

September 29, 2009

The Regional Internship Center of southwestern Pennsylvania (RIC) is partnering with local colleges and universities to implement a variety of Internship Fairs this fall.

Internship fair opportunities will take place at California University of Pennsylvania, Penn State Beaver, Point Park University, and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.

The RIC team will collaborate with Penn State Beaver on October 14 to host a free internship fair from 2: to 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided to all employers. Employers arrive between 1 and 1:30 p.m. to allow time for setup.

This internship fair is part of the Internships to Jobs (I2J) initiative developed by the Regional Internship Center. Hiring individuals with internship experience can increase the efficiency of organizations and positively affect the bottom line by lowering costs associated with turnover. The goal of Internships to Jobs is to provide support to regional employers that recognize the value of internship programs and are looking to hire an intern full-time within the next two years.

The Regional Internship Center, a non-profit organization, brokers connections between internship seekers and employers throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. Through targeted outreach and training, the RIC enables internship seekers and employer to explore working together to determine whether they are a good fit for a long term employment relationship. For more information about various other internship fairs this fall, visit http://www.TheRegionalInternshipCenter.org.

The RIC is part of Coro Pittsburgh. To register for this event or for more information contact Trisha Ross at 412-258-2678 or via email at tross@coropittsburgh.org.
