Carnegie Library prepares for G-20 summit

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh officials have announced that two of its 19 neighborhood locations will close to the public during the G-20 Summit. The libraries affected include:

CLP – Downtown & Business, 612 Smithfield Street. Temporarily closed Wednesday, September 23, Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25. The library will resume regular business hours on Monday, September 28.

CLP – Main, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Oakland. Temporarily closed Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25. The Library will resume regular business hours on Saturday, September 26.

Additional neighborhood libraries will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis as security perimeters and road closures surrounding the G-20 Summit are announced. Customers are encouraged to visit Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Web site, www. carnegielibrary.org, call the Library's Reference line at 412-622-3114 or follow the Library on Facebook for frequent updates. Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh card holders may also borrow and return materials from any Allegheny County library.

To encourage customer dialog surrounding the Summit, each Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh location will offer book displays and film recommendations that represent the G-20 member countries.
